Background: Ikaku Hijikata was born to warm middle class family. His mother is hardworking tailor and his father is military officer who is way too anal and strict! Among the hardworking (always out) parents, he had a support system at home with his older brother Kyosuke who takes very good care of him. As a child Hijikata was always looked at funny due to his feminine looks and body type, so others always confused him for a little girl. This struggle continued as he went to elementary school and middle school! During his years in middle school Ikaku spent his time around girls, since he was admired by many and they always seemed to enjoy his company. His lady friends also enjoyed that he was great cook and had similar interest such as: sewing, shopping and reading shoujo manga. One day during lunch, Ikaku was reading his manga and was thrown a paper ball. He opened it and to his surprise horrible words were written sloppily in red ink!

"Q-Queer?!, F*ggot?!, Disgusting?!...Who would write something like this about me!"

Ikaku's heart dropped. He was very much hurt by everyone's laughter, it would seem his entire class was in on it. Later on that day Ikaku's big brother greeted him at the door, the boys first instinct was to fall into his brother's arm and cry his eyes out. Kyosuke had no idea what was wrong with his brother until he was asked "Is there something wrong with the way I look, Kyo?" He pulls him into the house and holds his brother tightly seeing the ball up paper in his hand. Kyosuke has never seen such cruel words written by the hands of middle school children and was instantly raging on his Ikaku's suffering! Once everything was settled Kyosuke held his brother's hand and told him he was fine the way he was, there is nothing he can do to change his physical appearance. 

That night while Kyosuke was sleeping, the young man walked to his parents room and turned on the lights. He stood in the mirror staring deeply at his reflection...a wicked grin became present! He rips one of his mother's dresses from the armoire and slides it on his petite form. A dark glare was given at himself through the mirror "Why haven't I seen this before...I look like a girl! With this, I can trick anyone I want..."
Ikaku began to see his masculine flaw as a plus. From that day one Ikaku has decided to wear whatever makes him comfortable whether it makes him look like a girl or not. No matter what he looks like or what he wear, he knew he was a boy and would be stop at nothing to gain respect for what he is and what he looks like...even if it involves him getting violent!
